#MagpaRehistroKa: How to register to vote in Cagayan de Oro

Updated: Sep 22, 2021

As the 2022 election approaches, voter registration is ongoing on the 5th level of SM Cagayan de Oro Downtown Premier and will conclude on September 30, 2021. According to Commission on Elections (COMELEC), “any person who has not attained the required voting age or period of residency on the day of registration but will have such qualifications on or before May 9, 2022, National and Local Elections” may register as a voter.

Registration will take place from Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. With so many people registering to vote, there is no question that the mall will be congested amidst the pandemic, which is why we strongly advise everyone to come in early and adhere to the COVID-19 health guidelines.

To register:

  1. Prepare three filled CEF-1 forms printed back-to-back, as well as any valid IDs; you may also use a photocopy of your birth certificate.

  2. Arrive EARLY at SM CDO Downtown to get your priority number.

  3. Wait for an interview. During the interview, you will be asked to verify that all of your information is accurate. Then, you'll fill the three CEF-1 forms. (When finished, you may proceed to the logbook.)

  4. Submit your forms to the logbook personnel and wait for your name to be called.

  5. Proceed to biometrics, where your biometric data will be obtained.

  6. Finally, fingerprinting will be done, and they will give you the acknowledgment receipt of your registration.
